Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu (CCKK) recently brought its campus community together for the Kaamatan Festival 2026, an annual celebration that honours Sabah’s rich cultural heritage and the enduring values of gratitude, unity, and community associated with the state’s harvest festival.
The celebration showcased the vibrant traditions of Sabah through a series of cultural performances and competitions, highlighting the talents and diversity of the college’s student community. Among the main attractions were the highly anticipated Miss Kaamatan and Sugandoi competitions, where participants demonstrated confidence, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the customs and traditions of Sabah’s indigenous communities.
The Sugandoi 2026 winners were:
Champion: Mohd Nurkin Bin Ahong @ David (Diploma in Healthcare)
First Runner-up: Son Maxmillian Fredinand (Diploma in Nursing)
Second Runner-up: Elnyelsy Luntak (Diploma in Pharmacy)
The Miss Kaamatan 2026 winners were:
Champion: Gracie Stavia Jaffrendo (Diploma in Physiotherapy)
First Runner-up: Erica Dendra (Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health)
Second Runner-up: Mercy Mathew Francis (Diploma in Pharmacy)
The event also celebrated the achievements of CCKK students who represented the college in the Randawi Tavantang Kaamatan (RTK) 2026 pageant. Maverick Vonod Roger (Diploma in Healthcare), Vince Isaac Jakinol (Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health), and Daryl Chee (Diploma in Occupational Safety & Health) proudly represented the college, with Maverick and Vince advancing to the prestigious State Final after winning their respective district titles, while Daryl secured First Runner-up at the KDCA Kota Kinabalu competition.
Adding prestige to the event were distinguished judges Mr. Stevell Lumbasi, a renowned local singer and experienced adjudicator, and Ms. Venna Pindah, a proud CCKK Diploma in Pharmacy alumna and Miss Kaamatan CCKK 2024, who returned to support this year’s celebration by serving on the judging panel.
Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu extends its heartfelt congratulations to all participants and winners for their outstanding performances and for preserving Sabah’s unique cultural traditions. The college also expresses its sincere appreciation to the Student Representative Council (SRC), student volunteers, performers, organising committee, and all those who contributed behind the scenes to make the CCKK Kaamatan Festival 2026 a memorable success.
