About The School

The three-year curriculum of the Diploma in Nursing programme aims to prepare the graduates to be professional nurses who are caring, competent and safe actioners in all health care settings either in hospitals or in the community. The comprehensive learning environment at the Asia Metropolitan College, Kota Kinabalu will equip the trainee nurses with the fundamental knowledge and skills to pursue a higher learning degree, Masters and PHD in Nursing.

 

Cheng Ho Gan @ Annie, Programme Coordinator

Cheng Ho Gan @ Annie completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from University of Northumbria at Newcastle in 1998 and went on to complete her Master in Education from Asia e University in 2013. She obtained her professional qualification as a State Registered Nurse, State Certified Midwife and Ophthalmic Nursing from United Kingdom.

As the most senior personnel in Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu, Cheng Ho Gan@Annie brings extensive working experience behind her. She started her career as a State Registered Nurse at Lewisham Hospital, London, United Kingdom in 1970. She decided to return home to Sabah to serve in the health services initially as a State Registered Nurse in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu in 1972.

She started her career as an academician in College of Nursing, Hospital Queen Elizabeth, Kota Kinabalu as a Nursing Tutor for 23 years from 1976 to 1999. Later she served as a Principal at Community Nurse Training School, Tawau, Sabah from 1999 to 2003. She continued her career as a Clinical Supervisor at Sabah Medical Centre and as an Officer at Sabah State Health Department’s Training Unit.

She has been working for Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu since 1999, first as Deputy Principal Clinical and later as Senior Deputy Principal Academic. Currently, she is serving as the Programme Coordinator for Diploma in Nursing.

Diploma in Nursing

This programme will prepare students to be a qualified nurse that is both recognized in Malaysia and overseas. Graduates from this programme are officially registered with the Malaysian Nursing Board.
