On the 12th and 13th July 2023, the Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu (CCKK) Chess Tournament was held at the CCKK Library. Organized by the CCKK Chess Club, the tournament aimed to identify potential representatives for the upcoming Kejohanan Sukan MASISWA Zon (KSMZ) Sabah 2023. Two categories, Male and Female, witnessed intense competition as talented chess players showcased their skills on the chessboard.
The tournament featured intense matches filled with tactical maneuvers, brilliant strategies, and nail-biting moments. The participants displayed their dedication, resilience, and love for the game throughout the event.
After fierce rounds of competition, the following winners emerged in their respective categories winners:
- Male Category:
- 1st Place: Joy Brandon Wong (Diploma in Psychology)
- 2nd Place: Yap Yee Heng (Diploma in Psychology)
- Female Category:
- 1st Place: Nur Jariah Fitri (Diploma in Healthcare)
- 2nd Place: Nicolly Minsih (Diploma in Pharmacy)
