On 21st July 2023, the Diploma in Healthcare students successfully organized the Likas Beach Cleanup Programme as part of their MPU2412 Community Service project. The primary goal of this initiative was to promote environmental responsibility and contribute to the preservation of wildlife and marine habitats in the local area. By conducting a beach cleanup, the students aimed to create awareness about the adverse effects of litter and pollution on oceans, wildlife, and human health.
Divided into groups, the students eagerly engaged in the beach cleanup drive. Armed with gloves, trash bags, and litter pickers, they diligently combed through the beach area, collecting various forms of litter, including plastic waste, glass bottles, and other debris. The teamwork and dedication displayed during the cleanup were truly inspiring.
In conclusion, the programme exemplifies the potential for positive change when individuals come together for a common cause. The impact of the students' actions will continue to ripple through the community, reminding us all of the importance of preserving our natural surroundings for the well-being of future generations. Their achievement serves as a reminder that every small act of environmental stewardship counts and can make a significant difference in creating a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable world for all.
