Kota Kinabalu, 23 March 2022 – Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu held its 10th Convocation Ceremony on the 17th of March 2022 at the International Technology & Commercial Centre, Penampang. The ceremony celebrated 274 graduates from the Class of 2020 and 2021 who graduated from Diploma programmes across the fields of Healthcare, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Psychology and Business Studies.
Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu, previously known as Asia Metropolitan College Kota Kinabalu went through a rebranding exercise in 2021 and is now an affiliated college with the University of Cyberjaya. The effort is aimed to uplift communities with equitable access to quality education and transform societies with holistic learning and outstanding student experiences, while providing additional benefits to the students through shared resources, knowledge transfer, as well as benchmarking for quality teaching and learning.
Chief Executive of Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu, Mdm. Kristy Ng Sze Nee said, “The past two years have been challenging for all of us – as a college, and as individuals. We had to adapt, learn and eventually overcome these challenges Students and faculty members, together with the college management committee, gained new skills that led to the college not only being able to continue to deliver online teaching, but has also allowed the campus to expand and grow. Today, we continue to remain to be among the top institutions within the state.”
All programmes offered are officially approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, accredited by the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) and recognized by the Ministry of Health Malaysia. Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu meets the critical needs of health and other industries in Malaysia at the same time allowing people in Sabah to lead a better life.
Fenelly John, a Diploma in Medical Lab Technology graduate, bagged the Chairman’s Award and Best Graduate Award for the Class of 2021, “It is an honour for me to receive this award and I would like to thank my parents, my friends and family as well as our lecturers who have helped me to achieve this success.” Among other Best Graduate Award recipients were Cleverer Pan Chen Shin (Diploma in Pharmacy) and Alveani Jaffry (Diploma in Psychology) and Feldiyanna binti Joones (Diploma in Healthcare).
For the Class of 2020, Muhammad Fadhli bin Mohd Zin, a Diploma in Environmental Health graduate and recipient of the Chairman’s Award expressed his gratitude, “I am grateful to have received this award and to have all my efforts for all these years to finally pay off. Thank you to all the academics and administrative staff members at Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu for giving us endless support during our studies.” He also bagged the Best Graduate Award 2020 together with Georginia Natasha George, a Diploma in Physiotherapy graduate.
Cyberjaya College Kota Kinabalu has produced over 5000 graduates since its inception in 2008. The college is confident in delivering good education to all our students and are committed to upholding continuous excellency. This milestone is significant as the college has been awarded 5-Star rating in the Malaysian Quality Evaluation System (MyQuest) rating exercise 2018/2019. The rating has recognized the college’s benchmarking achievement in terms of student quality, resources quality, management system quality, programme recognition and graduate recognition.
